Dragon Age

Dragon Age tabletop game, preparing

Haven't been playing much the past few weeks because of trying to get a game setup for the tabletop group. We're running it through Roll20. Almost done, but now adding in stuff that will make running it easier later on.

Guild Wars 2 just announced their Path of Fire expansion. But still have to finish up Living Story Season 3. So, I may just game hop again to get ready for that.

In other news, my living situation has become uncertain, so might not have enough time to game as I get prepared for a possible move. If it does happen, may be afk for a bit while everything settles down.

Final Fantasy

Final Fantasy XII: The Zodiac Age (PS4), Desert Esterland

18% trophies, streaming available

Didn't stream last night because my stomach has been acting up all day. By the time 10 came around, I was curled up in a ball. Plan to be on tonight

Got further the other day but accidentally sold off a quest from the Nidhogg hunt 😨, so found an earlier save. Unfortunately, all the progress from killing 50 skeletons to get a chain trophy went away, too.

Right now trying to work on the Patient in the Desert side quest. Wish that they would show up in your log as a proper quest and not something that you have to take a mental note of.

Final Fantasy

Final Fantasy XII: The Zodiac Age (PS4), Bhujerba

14% trophies, streaming available

Finally have all six members of the party together. Yay! Have it split by level to get everyone up to speed.

Escaped from an airship last night and went back to trying to do some hunts. Didn’t get insta killed this time but going to wait until end game to work on them. 🙁

That’s pretty much it. Wow, yesterday’s post was a lot meatier. But then again, don’t want to do spoilers…

Final Fantasy

Final Fantasy XII: The Zodiac Age (PS4), The Skycity of Bhujerba

8% trophies, streaming available

This is the game that has my attention at the moment. Other games that I have been playing are Horizon: Zero Dawn, Firewatch, Corpse Party: Blood Drive, and Diablo III. Will post about them soon, hopefully.

Honestly, I’ve never played the original Final Fantasy XII because that was during college and the PS2 stayed home. It’s in my collection, just gathering dust… (Ha ha ha…) So this is kind of a treat because my friend S is a huge fan of it and loves it.

Playing it now, I understand why it didn’t do too well back then. It was a complete departure from X in terms of making a more high fantasy game instead of a fluffy, “Everything will be okay” game. Today in our George R. R. Martin world, it plays well compared with other games that took ideas from it so it still feels modern.

Biggest complaint so far, Fran’s ass. Yes, it is a lovely ass, no question but why? Between her and Ashe, the fashion choices does make you realize that this game was made before companies took female gamers seriously.

Enjoying the new job system but still waiting on two characters to join the party to take full advantage of it.

Two general things: 1.) Going to try start streaming between 10 pm – 11:30 pm est each night if the game allows, and 2.) Thinking of setting up a GoFundMe to support things like a twitch premium (keep videos around longer), PlayStation+ (streaming), PS Now (be able to stream PS2 and PS3 games), etc.

Corpse Party

Corpse Party: Book of Shadows (PSP), 100% complete

⭐️⭐️⭐️

The second in the US release of Corpse Party series, this installment was more visual novel focused than the previous. When you are exploring, it’s a first person room by room style like the first Persona or Etrian Odyssey. This makes it generally less scarier than the previous game, until your character darkens and you can’t really see anything on the screen… Doesn’t means that they go into any less detail, though.

So, kids play game. Game sends them into hellish version of their school. Kids try to find each with the power of friendship. Most of the kids die brutal deaths. It’s pretty much the same game as the first but gives more backstory to some of the characters and explains how they died. There is an extra end that leads directly into Corpse Party: Blood Drive. (Highly suggested to not play Blood Drive until you’ve played the previous games because it really doesn’t explain anything.)

Not the best game, but required to play to understand the next one; kinda like Dragon Age II. (Shut up, I liked it.)

Zero Escape

Zero Time Dilemma (Vita), 100% complete

⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

Finally, the last chapter of the Zero Escape saga. Boy, was it a great a end! They upgraded the graphics to give it a look of Borderlands which really took it to a while new level. It also allowed the game to become a lot more graphic and bloody.

Since it was the final game in the series, many previous characters returned. Having their timelines finished really gave the game a sense of closure. The premise was still the same as the other games, but the puzzles were easier this time.

Definitely would suggest it, even if you played the rest of the series. And you can even get all trophies in one playthrough!
